The “Poetry of the Earth” series compiles calming natural sound recordings captured by environmental sound artist Takashi Kokubo across more than forty countries worldwide. Using the 3-D binaural recording system “Cyberphonic,” the album offers astonishing realism—when heard through headphones, the listener experiences an uncanny sense of actually being present in each location.
Here, one can enjoy the rich tropical textures and blue ocean waves of Australia’s Great Barrier Reef, as well as New Zealand’s pristine landscapes, so breathtaking that they are often selected as filming locations for cinema. This album is a luxurious collection of contrasting natural scenes, delivering crisp, refreshing soundscapes that let the listener feel the breeze.
Track 9, “Matchbox,” serves as a Cyberphonic demonstration track.
