A Japan-exclusive CD edition of “Gaiaphilia,” the collaborative work by two pioneers of Japanese ambient and new age music — pianist/composer Yumiko Morioka and environmental musician, sound designer, and media producer Takashi Kokubo — will be released on April 30. The release party will be held at POLARIS tokyo on April 13, where the CD will be available in advance.

Originally released on vinyl and digital formats via Métron Records, Gaiaphilia brings together Morioka and Kokubo for a rare collaboration between two foundational figures in the lineage of Japanese ambient and new age music.
