Immersive Ambient Music .jp Vol.1

The immersive audio event Immersive Ambient Music .jp Vol.1 will be streamed at 17:00 from environmental musician Takashi Kokubo’s studio SAGE. The studio will operate as an immersive audio space utilizing 13 Genelec speakers in a 7.2.4 Dolby Atmos configuration, combined with Kokubo’s binaural microphone system Cyberphonic.

With this new environment, the aim is to transmit Japan’s remarkable ambient music to the rest of the world.

Artists & Program

For its inaugural edition, the event presents:

• Takashi Kokubo & Andrea Esperti — whose upcoming worldwide release is scheduled via the Swiss label WRWTFWW
• CHILLAX, a rising presence in the ambient scene
• Special guest Hideki Matsutake

For this event, unreleased works as well as pieces by YMO and Isao Tomita will be adapted into immersive audio and performed in rebuilt/remixed form.

Immersive Listening at Home

All performances are produced in immersive formats, enabling a sense of spatial presence impossible to reproduce via conventional stereo. With headphones, listeners at home can experience a striking level of immersion and three-dimensionality.
