Stomu Yamashita—who rose to prominence in the late 1960s within classical and contemporary music, and who later became known for rock-oriented performances and collaborations with Steve Winwood, Klaus Schulze, and Michael Shrieve—released this album in 1982 as the third installment in his New Age electronic Iroha series, which began earlier that same year.
As with the previous entries, the album prominently features synthesizers with contributions from Takashi Kokubo and Sen Izumi, constructing a grand conceptual soundscape inspired by Buddhist cosmology. The music evokes the sensation of subterranean magma boiling, or the Earth itself trembling—an immersive, deeply meditative sonic world.
