October 15, 2022 — the Calm “Immersive Audio LIVE in 7.2.4ch”
-Immersive Audio LIVE-
moshimoss
Takashi Kokubo & Andrea Esperti
DJ:Matsusaka Daisuke Yuma Sasaki ONO
This event showcases ambient music in an immersive sound environment using the Dolby Atmos format, with a total of 13 speakers (7.2.4ch) assembled and specially tuned for a single night. The system creates a three-dimensional acoustic field in which both music and spatial design can be experienced as a unified environment.
Sakuraza has served as a cultural hub since its revival in 2005, hosting emerging and visionary artists from Japan and abroad. Its predecessor was a popular playhouse that operated from the Meiji era through the early Showa period before closing in 1930 due to the rise of film, later burning down during wartime air raids. Seventy-five years later, the venue was restored as a platform for artistic and cultural expression, contributing to the revitalization of the surrounding district.
With its unusually tall ceiling and acoustically “dead” (low-reverberation) sonic space, Sakuraza is ideal for accurately reproducing an artist’s intended sound and perfectly suits the concept of immersive audio.
A One-Night-Only Experience
Tickets for the in-person performance are limited.
In addition, a binaural streaming broadcast will be made available, with a binaural microphone placed at the primary listening position. Those unable to attend in person can still enjoy the performance through headphones, experiencing a highly immersive, concert-like sound field as though present in the venue.
