In ancient Japan, demons (oni) were often depicted as manifestations of invisible epidemics. In this production, the modern coronavirus is symbolized as a demon. The story of Minamoto no Yorimitsu and “Onikiri” is presented through holographic projections on a screen installed on a Noh stage.
